1Tb samusng disk showing 33mb

I had a 1Tb data disk that after the last restart showed up in BIOS as a 33mb disk.

After searching i came across  this nifty little windows application

Copied from http://blog.atola.com/restoring-factory-hard-drive-capacity/

“We’ve came up with a freeware tool that handles LBA48 mode setting as well as HPA and DCO features. It does everything automatically: it extracts the factory capacity; then it restores the factory LBA48, HPA and DCO settings.”

After running Direct Download it restored my disk to its former glory.

I do not know which of the above listed settings was incorrect but its all good now.

  1. I bought this mp3 plaeyr for around $8, and I had to buy a separate SD card to use it for around $5. I dropped it on a wood floor immediately after taking it out of the package, and the little clip piece broke off, as it was very flimsy. The whole plaeyr seems flimsy, but it’s very light. The plaeyr does not shuffle; it appears to play the files in the order in which they were added to the disk. Files are added by dragging and dropping to the card; there is no sync or anything. The plaeyr functions as a card reader. That said, it seems to have decent battery life and is rechargeable. The sound is ok with the regular ipod earbuds that I use. The controls are easy to use, and the blinky LEDs let me know it’s still working.Being that it’s an mp3 plaeyr and it’s practically free, I would say this is ok.
